There's a certain sweet sorrow in life
which is just.
And we can feel good about its justice.
The subtle masochist sways in the blue.
The child says 'comfort me.'
And the old man, resting on his death bed,
on his soul-pillow--
finds no mother there.
So it was; so it shall be.
